What is the Premier League?

The Premier League is the top division of English professional football, founded in 1992 as a breakaway from the old First Division. It is widely regarded as the most commercially significant and most-watched football league in the world, with clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea drawing millions of fans worldwide.

The competition format, 2026/27 season

Twenty clubs each play 38 matches: twice against each of the other 19 clubs, once at home and once away. There are no play-offs - whoever tops the table after 38 matchdays with the most points is champion. Ties are broken first on goal difference, then on goals scored, then on the head-to-head result.

Betting on the Premier League

At Napoleon Sports, you bet as a licensed Belgian bookmaker on the Premier League: on the match winner, the double chance, both teams to score and over/under goals, live during the match, and on season-long markets such as the champion or relegation. Betting should stay entertainment: set a spending limit in advance and remember that no bet guarantees a win.

Predictions and tips

A bet starts with a well-informed read of the game. Look at recent form, head-to-head history, league position and the availability of key players. Stats and tips are useful background, but a prediction is still an opinion, not a certainty.

Where to watch the Premier League in Belgium?

Telenet (Play Sports) holds the official Premier League rights in Belgium for the 2025/26 to 2027/28 cycle, with Dutch-language commentary. Telenet sub-licenses the French-language broadcast to VOO (VOOsport World); Orange customers can add a package covering both through Telenet. Proximus (Pickx) lost its carriage deal at the end of June 2026. Napoleon Sports does not broadcast Premier League matches itself - the league sits outside Napoleon TV due to the Premier League's own licensing rules - but still helps you follow the games through live standings, results and in-play betting markets.
